Social Media Coordinator

The Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for daily community management on The Hollywood Reporter’s (THR) social platforms, reporting to the Social Media Manager and Social Media Senior Manager. The Social Media Coordinator should be organized, proficient on all social platforms and comfortable in a fast-paced newsroom.
 
The Social Media Coordinator should be well-versed in The Hollywood Reporter’s coverage areas, including: Film, television, industry/studio news, cable news and politics. 
 
This is a full-time position, working Sunday - Thursday once trained.
 
Required skills:
-Bachelor’s degree 
-Background in journalism/communications preferred
-In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, their respective participants (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Snapchat, Pinterest etc.) and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios
-Strong copywriting and grammar skills
-Experience covering live events: Red carpets, junkets, film festivals, etc.
-Familiarity with awards coverage: Avid watcher of the Golden Globes, Emmys, Oscars, Grammys
-Experience using Business Manager on Facebook: Ad experience and targeting a plus
-Familiar with Instagram posting strategies
-Knowledge of THR’s content and style
-Ability to work quickly in fast paced and demanding situations 
-Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays and awards season

The above are minimum requirements. Compensation and responsibilities will depend on experience/qualifications.
