Live Video Producer

Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter are premier media properties focused on covering the entertainment and music industries via leading digital destinations and original video programming (See samples at and /HollywoodReporter.)  The Live Video Producer is responsible for generating live and VOD content across multiple platforms.  The ideal candidate has a combination of technical, production and creative backgrounds.  He or she will produce Live and VOD projects both in studio and on location, maintain schedules, shoot, mix sound, light, edit footage and coordinate with the production/editorial teams for cohesive brand coverage.

Job responsibilities:

  • Serve as TD for studio and off-site multi-camera live streams. We currently use Wirecast and Blackmagic converters to switch and encode each program.
  • Conceive, shoot, light, run sound, edit and produce video content for daily Live and VOD programming.
  • Handle audio/mic set-up and mixing for live concert performances in a small studio.
  • Ideate, plan and direct multiple shoots each day.
  • Oversee management of video assets, working with teams to archive and organize footage for future use and distribution.
  • Maintain clear communication with NY & LA video teams.
  • Correspond directly with editorial teams and talent representatives for shoot details and scheduling.
  • Manage a bi-coastal social media schedule and coordinate with stakeholders on video rollout.
  • Hire and supervise videographers and additional crew when necessary. The candidate should be able to identify which cameras and sound equipment are appropriate for each shoot.
  •  Organize and track budgeting for produced content and equipment upgrades.
  • Research, recommend and test new streaming technologies and services that support the goals of our fast turnaround, high traffic video business.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of professional physical production experience for Live stream and VOD content.
  • Proficiency with Wirecast, Adobe Premiere Pro CC; Adobe Photoshop. Knowledge of Adobe Audition CC, Pro Tools is a plus.
  • Should have a passion for technology and be consistently updating knowledge of new techniques and software to make recommendations.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will be interfacing with all levels of staff and management.
  • Must be very comfortable on set handling lighting, camera, audio and control room equipment.
  • Must be organized and have excellent attention to detail.
  •  Have a track record of coming up with creative solutions for logistical challenges.
  • Must have the ability to adapt to quick moving schedules, be available to work off hours for events and last minute requests.
  • Must meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • The ideal candidate is someone enthusiastic about music, moving images and popular culture.
  • Some travel is required in this position. Must be comfortable producing on-site and in the field at events around the U.S.
